Move from former location in the city center of Waldkraiburg to the industrial area. On October 13, 1989, the new plant was officially opened at Teplitzer Strasse. It became the symbol of the “New KRAIBURG”.
After an intensive planning and construction period, the company opened its first location outside of Switzerland, in Buford, GA, in a ceremony on June 21, 2018. With the newly established Gezolan (KRAIBURG), LP, the well-known Swiss manufacturer of granules has taken a major step toward its goal of internationalization.
Gummiwerk KRAIBURG, founded by Friedrich Schmidt at the end of the 1940s, developed rapidly and expanded continuously. In 1968, his son Peter Schmidt took over a factory in Tittmoning – with the vision of a new production process for recycling tyre rubber. What started with basic rubber mats, has evolved into high-quality stable floorings with “that little extra” over the years. Today, we sell about 1.5 million m² per year all over the world.
